Theresa Weber's Solo Exhibition 'Chaosmos' at Kunstmuseum Bochum Museum, Germany

June 7th to October 13th, 2024

At the end of May, the Kunstmuseum Bochum will present Theresa Weber's first large solo exhibition in a museum context. Entitled 'Chaosmos', the exhibition will transform the ground floor of the Kunstmuseum into a spacious, organic landscape. Textile sculptures and silicone-cast pictures will merge to form a cultural tapestry, creating a cosmos of beautiful coincidences, human and divine interrelationships, and simultaneities.

Among the showcased works are continuations of existing series, such as the large fabric sculpture 'Entanglement of the Four Goddesses', originally created for the exhibition 'Our house is a very very very fine house' at the Kunstmuseum. In 'Chaosmos', Theresa Weber crafts her own visual narrative, where hierarchy and either-or-thinking yield to mutual exchange, productive chaos, and the constant reinvention of self.

Theresa Weber's exhibition will open to the public on June 7th at 7 pm and will run until October 13th. Additionally, on July 20th at 3 pm, visitors can experience a collaborative performance by Theresa Weber and Nathanael Amadou, titled 'Counter Cosmogonies - A Poetic Ceremony', within the exhibition space. As the exhibition nears its conclusion, an artist talk and tour through the show are scheduled for October 13th at 3 pm.
