Smék Setúbal is a collaboration between the Brazilian artists Dora Smék and Paul Setúbal.
The development of their collaboration starts from a tangent and friction between the individual productions of the two artists, and establishes itself as a third artist with its own specific questions, concerns and references.
Starting from the concepts of opposition, tension and continuity with mythological, physical and chemical references, Smék Setúbal has been creating since 2017 a series of installations, sculptures, videos, performances and photographs that take as their starting point the tensions inherent in human relationships.
From June 2023, Reiners Contemporary Art welcomes Smék Setúbal to the gallery's artist residency in Marbella, Spain.
