Body, movement, contraction, retention, and flow are elements present in Dora Smék's work, which spans various media such as sculptures, installations, photographs, videos, and performances. Smék's research often explores the relationship between the unconscious and sexuality, as well as the processes of body adaptation in stressful or crisis situations, particularly concerning the female body.
Smék holds a master's degree in Visual Arts from the State University of Campinas (Brazil) and a degree in Corporal Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil).
